The coffee collection: The Palace Of Holyroodhouse

Whilst Revive was founded in Glasgow, working with our waste management partner Cauda has allowed us to begin collecting spent coffee grounds from all across Scotland. This expansion has allowed us to start working with some really amazing people and companies; one of which is the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

Admittedly, it was quite unusual to come in to the office to an email from a member of staff at Buckingham Palace saying they were keen to begin recycling the spent coffee grounds from the Holyroodhouse. The Café at the Palace in the historic setting of Mews Courtyard offers simple homemade dishes made from fresh, locally sourced produce.

We’ve been collecting from the Palace since January 2018. By working with Revive, Holyroodhouse will divert over 1500kg of spent coffee grounds from going to waste. It is wonderful to know that there are so many people out their that share Revive’s vision of maximising the value that can be created from waste!
