From Uni Project to Purpose-Driven Business
Today we celebrate 10 years of Revive, however, ten years ago Revive was only starting out as a uni project between a few students who cared deeply about sustainability and believed that waste could be so much more.
Fast forward to 2025, and here we are. A whole decade of experimentation, hard graft, breakthroughs, (a few failures too!), incredible partnerships, and more coffee grounds than we can count.
The Highs, Lows and Lessons Learned
Over the course of the last ten years our journey has taken us from turning used coffee grounds into soil improvers, to discovering the powerhouse potential of coffee oil for skincare, to building a growing team dedicated to transforming waste into real, meaningful change.

But let’s not pretend it was just a straight line. It’s been a wild, exciting, sometimes chaotic journey, and every single person who’s been part of the Revive team, past and present, has helped shape who we are today.
Celebrating the People Behind the Mission
This anniversary isn’t just about celebrating the company. It’s about celebrating the journey and thanking all of the people, organisations and investors.
All the legends who’ve poured their skills, expertise, ideas, late nights, and laughter into making Revive what it is.
We’ve come a long way from turning coffee grounds into a natural plant food in our parents’ gardens, to now being at the forefront of circularity in skincare (with our very own lab!).
All this could not have been done without our amazing team and the encouragement and backing of countless supporters over the years.
Our Partners on the Journey
Revive has been fortunate to have the support of many organisations over the last few years including Strathclyde University, Scottish Enterprise, Zero Waste Scotland and EIT.
We’re very lucky to be based in Scotland and have so many fantastic support agencies on our doorstep who help companies like us develop from ideas into reality.
Achievements We’re Proud Of
Some of our proudest achievements over the last ten years include: building a community of over 700 Crowdcube investors, all aligned with our passion and mission to redefine waste and inspire a sustainable future.
Working with research institutes, Universities and partners across the globe, has taken us from Scotland, to the US, to Japan, to Iceland, and everywhere in between.
Creating over 12 roles within Revive since our founding, with chemists, engineers and marketers all playing a key role in helping us get to where we are today and being integral to the Revive story.
As individuals we have also significantly changed appearance-wise since winning an award in Texas. All the way back in our second year of uni. Let’s put that down to the stresses and sleepless nights of growing a business shall we?

The Current Revive Dream Team
Revive really would be nothing without our people. So we’ll finish off with a big shout out to the current team making things happen at Revive today:
Fergus Moore – Co-founder and true sustainability champion. Always thinking big, making an impact, and enjoying a great beer along the way.
Scott Kennedy – Co-founder and environmental protector, inspired by Scotland’s beauty (and a cracking round of golf). Always innovating, always moving forward.
Dawn Thompson – Senior chemist and resident problem-solver. Turning coffee waste into breakthroughs, one experiment (and one baked good) at a time.
Kirsten Morris – Our creative R&D scientist, weaving science and sustainability into something beautiful. From rethinking textiles to rocking out at gigs, Kirsten does it all.
Robert Burton – The marketing & ecom maestro bringing the Revive vision to the world. Driving bold campaigns and proving waste can be a whole new kind of luxury.

Here’s to the Next 10 Years
So celebrate 10 years of Revive with us! Here’s to 10 years of Revive Eco Ltd, and to every single person and organisation who made our success possible.
We’re raising a (reusable) cup to the achievements of the past decade… and to the potential of the next one.
Fergus & Scott, Revive Eco Ltd founders.
