Scotland’s First Coffee Neutral University

It’s been an exciting couple of weeks here at Revive, with the successes of the Glasgow Coffee Festival, followed by the biggest roll-out of our coffee grounds collection service to date.

We’ve been working with the fantastic team at Edinburgh University for a number of months, which has seen us collecting and recycling around 5 tonnes of coffee grounds from their two busiest outlets. After seeing the success of this collection service, we have just this week rolled the service out across all 19 outlets on their campus.

This will see us tripling our intake of coffee grounds from Edinburgh University, and sees them becoming Scotland’s first “coffee neutral” University. On top of this, the University is also using our 100% natural soil conditioner, created from the used coffee grounds, on the gardens across their campus, meaning we have been able to create a true closed loop at the University. We are delighted to play a part in helping Edinburgh University achieve their environmental and sustainability goals, and look forward to continuing to work with such a forward thinking partner.
